The opportunity
Beauty retail was moving toward open displays, hands-on testing, technician support, and education. The challenge was to bring those behaviors together without losing the order, visibility, and premium presence expected in a department store.
The system also needed to flex between footprints and operating modes: a compact product display, a staffed consultation point, a temporary event, or a larger branded experience zone.
System approach
The proposal organized the experience around modular Beauty Towers and mobile Beauty Carts. Single and dual tower configurations combine dense color merchandising with accessible test surfaces, storage, digital storytelling, and clear transaction zones.
Sketch exploration studied customer circulation, technician reach, product visibility, and the transition from browsing to assisted service. Shared modules allow the system to scale while preserving one recognizable O·P·I expression.
Experience outcome
The final direction creates a flexible nail playground rather than a conventional product fixture. Customers can explore color independently, move naturally into testing or education, and complete a purchase without leaving the branded environment.
Rendered configurations show how the same design language can form freestanding towers, paired service stations, mobile carts, and a complete in-store beauty destination.
