Electro-Voice — Powered Loudspeaker Family
What is the best way to convey brand heritage and its quality through industrial design? How do you gain trust and make people believe in your brand?
Industrial design / Brand heritage / CAD

- Client
- Electro-Voice
- Sector
- Professional audio
- Scope
- Industrial design, CAD, CMF
- Output
- Production loudspeaker family
The problem
Professional audio buyers judge hardware by how it survives transport, how fast it sets up, and whether it looks like it belongs on a paid stage. The design has to read as durable equipment, not consumer product.
Approach
An existing tower speaker served as a reference column system. Concept sketch exploration covered usability, aesthetics, and mechanism, then moved into finalized CAD for production development.
Detailing focused on the working surfaces: the input and control panel, handle and grip geometry, grille pattern, and the stacking and stand interfaces that get used on every load-in.
Outcome
A coherent powered loudspeaker family — portable column systems through to the Live X cabinets — sharing one structural language across sizes and use cases, shown here in production units in real performance settings.
Contribution
- Design process overview and benchmarking
- Concept sketch exploration
- Finalized CAD for production development
- Control panel, handle, and grille detailing
- Hero rendering for production review
